Forget fussing with tricky pastry! In just three easy steps, our gluten-free Millet & Chia bread converts to tasty, golden breadcrumbs that transform into the perfect base for delectable maple butter tarts.
Preheat oven to 350℉.
Combine bread crumbs, sugars, and vegan buttery spread in a small bowl and divide evenly in a 12 cup muffin tray. Press the crumb mixture into the bottom and the sides of the cups and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, vegan buttery spread, vegan egg, apple cider vinegar and salt. Evenly fill the crumb cups with the filling mixture.
Bake until the filling is set, 20-25 minutes and transfer pan to a cooling rack. Once cooled, loosed the edges of the tarts before gently removing them from the tin.
