Plant based bagel

This gluten-free pizza bagel recipe is just as easy as it is tasty—making it plant-based and allergy-friendly is a welcomed addition. Pizza bagels are the perfect self-serve snack or lunch for hungry kids, teens, and grown-ups, too. Made with our gluten-free Everything Bagels, this dairy-free dish is packed with flavour!

Basic knife skills are all you need to make these delicious gluten-free pizza bagels. Got gluten-free kids? Encourage them to cook something they already know and love! Very little supervision is needed (perhaps none at all depending on your child’s age and competency in the kitchen).

The best thing about this dish—other than its great flavour, speed, and simplicity—is its versatility. The recipe we’ve included below is a great starting point if you’re in need of inspiration, but you can change the toppings to satisfy cravings or suit your preferences! Plus, this recipe is easy to scale according to the meal, occasion, or appetite. For snack-size portions, younger kids, and smaller appetites, try serving half the bagel as an open-face pizza bagel. Or use the whole bagel—or even two bagels—to satisfy the hungriest people at your table. This gluten-free recipe truly delivers the joy of the real thing!

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350℉.
  2. Add a layer of pizza sauce to both sides of the bagel. Sprinkle one side of the bagel with your plant-based cheese, and favourite gluten-free plant-based pizza toppings and basil. Pop the other side of the bagel on top to make a pizza bagel sandwich and top your pizza bagel with a bit more cheese.
  3. Place your pizza bagel on a baking sheet (line with parchment paper for easy clean up) and bake for 10 – 15 minutes.
  4. Top with oregano and additional basil (optional).
  5. Serve warm (be carefull the sauce will be hot!)

Serves 1-2 people (depending on appetite)
