By Little Northern Bakehouse

We originally created this spread as the base for our Dessert Pizza with Chocolate Spread and Banana Berry Topping, but it was simply too good—and too versatile—to use in just one recipe. Our allergy-friendly Nut-Free Chocolate Spread swaps traditional nuts for toasted sunflower seeds, which makes it a perfect safe-for-school sandwich spread. Let it melt a little as an edge-to-edge toast topper that’s just as delicious at breakfast as it is for an impromptu weeknight dessert when you’re craving something chocolatey and sweet. Or serve it as the ultimate decadent dip for fresh fruit. It makes a stunning sundae sauce, too!

(Keep it in a jar in the fridge for up to 10 days…if it lasts that long!).

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor or high-powered blender, puree sunflower seeds until smooth and thick.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and process until you have a rich, creamy, nut-free chocolate spread
